Friendliness

Sociologists claim that humans as social beings need friends. People need someone to talk to and to associate with. Life without friends is like sailing on a deserted ship. No one wants to live alone. The history of friends and friendship can be traced way back to the first man and woman. In today’s world of globalization where competition to make better living is rife, there is little time to really meet people and have real friend. Everyone is rushing somewhere, everyone seems to be busy and almost everyone does not have time to get to know a person. One may have plenty of casual acquaintances but true friends are difficult to find.

The essence of true friendship is the will to share. While we cannot live in isolation, we cannot have everything for ourselves too. Nature has given us an abundance of resources must be shared. True friends must have the will share certain things if not everything. The practice of giving and sharing must be sincere. There is no remorse or regret. True friends expect nothing in return. True friendship is being there when you are needed most, then must be based on a mutual commitment to support each other and being able to deliver when help is needed.

True friendship is giving moral support and other forms of spiritual support. Moral support can often boost confidence while the spiritual touch can take one a long way when dealing with sorrow, depression and illnesses. Pure friendship is often based on the pillars of spiritualism. The principle of ‘belief in God’ often makes friendships last for longer periods of time. Some friends only want to take advantage of others. Friendship is sometimes used to benefit one party. When this happens, there is bound to be anger, frustration and misery. No one can give all the time. There is a time when the limits to a friendship are tested and if the elements of giving and taking are absent at the particular time, that ‘ship’ will not float for long.

Most of all, friends must be genuine and any pretentious acts must be done away with. True friends communicate with each other truly and frequently. While there may be need to get together often, friends must also be given some form of privacy so as not to suffocate them and hinder them from living their own lives.

Flowers miss rainy

Flower is a plant that needs water to survive. Water serves as the medium for transporting nutrients throughout the plant and provides structural support for its individual cells. Water is also vital to the photosynthesis process. If flowers don’t have water to survive, they will wither. So that’s why the owner always takes care of them. Flowers that grow up at the jungle or roadside, people never care to them. They just hope raining, sometimes long time doesn’t raining. They will miss the rain so much, it likes I miss my family so much.

During I come to Malaysia, I always call to them and if have holiday, I will go back to Indonesia. But I still miss them, especially something happen around me. When I go to shopping mall or where, I see the family go out together and so happy. I will miss more and more until I cry. When I was in Indonesia if I do something wrong or don’t hear what my mom suggested to me, she will scold me. Sometimes I got angry until I didn’t want to talk. But now I know that nobody scold with you. You will miss him/her. Then I cannot eat the foods that my mom cooks. Although in here got a lot of delicious foods, but for me the most delicious food is my mom cooking. We and my father will joke each other, sometimes my mom also angry to us. I always fight with my brother. It’s not fighting like disturb him because I like to disturb him and make him complaint with my mom. Then I will so happy ><. After I came to here, I cannot fight with him anymore. If my sister, now she study in KL. I ever meet her, but not usually. To go from Klang to KL which my sister stay is so troublesome.

Now I know that go to other country has advantage and disadvantage. I came to Malaysia, I got many advantage although I miss my family so much.

Travelling is a way to get experience

Everyone loves to travel when they have the extra money or savings. For some, they travel every month for business while for others, students travel during the school has a long holidays, older people travel because retired want to enjoy their live. This depends of people. For me I love travel because I think you can get experience and learn from traveling. So the travel can be fun and excited.

Last year I finished the English class, so I had planed go back to Indonesia. But my friends suggested we go to travel, this is a good chance. So they told me not go back too early. After that I think this also a good idea. Then we discussed where we want to travel. One of my friends suggested the Cameron Highlands. All of us were agreeing. Cameron Highland is the area enjoys a cool clime which is about 1524m above sea level. It is perpetually spring season through out the year with its cool temperature no higher than 20 degrees Celsius. The cool climate also attracted a young British resident, John Archibald Russells, who saw the potential of tea as an important cash crop in the region, thus began Boh Estate, the first highland tea plantation established in 1929. With its fertile soil the highland was found to be conducive for commercial cultivation of vegetables, fruits and flowers. Cameron Highland is tropical rainforest which is one of the most complexes in the region; it holds many secrets of the living eco-system.

On 03 October 2008, we traveled to Cameron Highland. I was so excited. It is a little bit same with Genting Highland-meanly the place because the place is cool. Then we arrived, the service asked which tour we want to visit. First is Leisure Tour, second is Nature Discovery Tour, then Agro Delight tour and the last one is Sunrise Spectacular. We didn’t choose all; only choose the Nature Discovery Tour. The tour separate to four places. The first is Tea Plantation; in here I learned how to distinguish many kinds of tea and a lot of information about tea. I had seen a spectacular phenomenon, the tea plantation field together with the blues skies. It was absolutely breathtaking. Secondly is Breath Taking View, it height of 6666 feet above sea level. In there I saw the whole Cameron Highland and we enjoyed the cool crisp mountain air admits serenity of the surroundings. Third is Mossy Forest. A world of wonders of nature awaits me. Be awe-struck by the variety of pitcher plants of different shapes and sizes, beautiful wild orchids and herbal plants such as the famous “Kacip Fatimah”. Then the last one is Aboriginal Resettlement. It is the place that original people live. All of the places were very interesting. My general knowledge became increase because I learned a lot of things from this traveling. This was a good experience that I ever get. That’s why I like to share with my friends and also my classmates.

Bicycles

In my opinion, bicycles are the best kind of transport. They are cheap and not complicated. They have no engine and only two wheels, and anybody can afford to buy one. Because they have no engines, so they are ‘cleaner’ than any other kind of vehicle. In other words, they don’t give out any of the toxic gases which caused pollution and creating health problems in our big cities. If everybody in the world rode bicycle, and other vehicles such as motor-bikes and motor-cars didn’t existed, we could solve the pollution problem very easily.

Having no engine has other advantages, bicycles can easily been maintained, unlike cars which consists of many parts and will not work if any of these parts break. In addition, it doesn’t have fuel, so no need something to make it work. That’s way the rider can easily go for mile after mile without need to stop at a petrol station.

According to recent research, riding bicycles are one of the best kinds of exercise. It makes the circulation of blood in our body faster and improves our ability to think. This is very important for our studies. Nowadays, it is becoming popular for people to cycling long distances: across a state, for instance, or even around the world. This is frequently happen in countries like Australia and the USA.

In the future, bicycles would be different from those we know today. Research have been carried out, and is still continuing, to find ways for making bicycles go faster. In my opinion, the bicycles of the future will have good streamlining, and the rider will be cover by a fiberglass body which will be protecting the riders from the sunshine and rain.

Which one do you prefer Supermarkets or Traditional small shop????

Nowadays, more and more people do their shopping in big supermarkets, instead of going to the traditional small shop. Supermarkets are much more common than they used to be. By ‘Supermarket’ I mean the kind of large store which has several sections stocking a wide range of goods: foods, drinks, kitchen equipment, stationery, clothes and toys. Normally, the customer pays for all his purchases at the same time, at a cash desk situated somewhere near the way out. It is very convenient to be able to buy so many things in the same place, at prices which are often lower than in small shops and it is probably for this reason that many people prefer to shop there.

Some people claim that supermarkets are the shops of the future. They say that their bright lights and attractive shelves are much better than the cramped confusion of the small shop, with its forest of buckets and brooms hanging from the ceiling and its narrow passageways between piles of sacks and boxes leading to the dark interior. But in my opinion, traditional shops have a lot of good points which the big modern supermarkets cannot match. Then the small local shop is much friendlier than the supermarket. If the owner knows you, he/she can help you choose between the different brands which he/she has in stock. He will let you choose the best vegetables out of box-something you can never do in a supermarket. He/she may even be able to offer you credit if you are short of money.

What is more, the local shop is a social centre in a way that the supermarket can never be. In the small shop you can meet your neighbors, and then chat with them. Nowadays, all of people are busy, so after finish work they don’t want to chat, just want to relax. Even though your neighbors, maybe you also never chat with them. So this is a good side that can chat with your neighbors. It makes people closer to each other.

Dreams

There are three kinds of dreams, one is daydreaming, nightmare and other one is pipe-dream. Daydream is a state of mind or a situation in which things do not seem real. Nightmare are sequence images, sounds and feelings experienced while sleeping, strongly connected with rapid eye movement sleep. Then pipe dream is a wish to have or be something, especially one that seems difficult to achieve. It’s totally different.

Usually most of people will have a nightmare at night, but some people they don’t have dream. This depends of people. For me every night I have a nightmare but sometimes I forget what I dream. If have daydream, I think all of people have it, me too. But this only daydream. It is impossible come true.

I have a pipe-dream. But my pipe dream keeps changing, like last time I wanted to become businesswoman, so I thought that I will take degree of business. But now I take CAT program. I am also confused “Why?” maybe when I saw some thing that made me interested; I would change it without thinking. But I also choose which is good for me. For some people that have a pipe-dream, they want their dream come true, so they work very hard to reach it. But, not all of people are lucky; they can do what they want. Some people can’t reach their dream because of some reasons. So they force themselves not to follow the dream.

I always think why a pipe-dream can make people work hard. If say a pipe-dream, why not say a power that makes people to get something through diligence. Because they have a dream, so they know that they must to get it. That’s way people will be successful.

Time is money

“Time is money” this proverb means that time is very valuable. Time is more valuable than money. The money we have lost, we can gain again, but the time we have wasted cannot be regained. Moreover, sometimes persons can exist without money, but nothing can be done without time, just as no one can live without air.

Despite of being so valuable, time is often neglected by people, since time is an invisible thing, most of people often waste their time unconsciously. Without anything to do, they may gossip from morning until night or sleep all the time. For most of people, they find out that time doesn’t enough for them, for example, their family doesn’t have money to live, so they need to work. After they finished work and get money, the money is still not enough. In here they will think why time gone so far. If time can walk slowly, it’s so good or thinks for them. If in this world has Doraemon, it will be so miraculous. Doraemon has a magic drawer that can bring us go to the past, or go to future. It’s so nice, right?? When I done something wrong, I hope that there is really has Doraemon, can bring me to the past, and I will never done the mistake again. But, it will never happen. Time that past already will be never regained at all.

People can live only at most to about 100 years. It seems fairly long, but in fact it is rather short. How many things can a man accomplish in such a short period?? So, we should use or valuable time properly to do our work. Never waste it.

Grown Up Experience

I have a great opportunity to study and live abroad—mainly in Malaysia. When I was graduated High School in Indonesia, I am continuing my study in Malaysia. Before came to Malaysia, I ever visited here, but I never think that I will study in here. When my mom’s friend introduced me coming to Malaysia, I feel so excited. At the time, my heart thinks that I will live abroad. After came to Malaysia, I need to stand alone with myself; I’m not more mom’s child at all again, I need to grown up. When something happened I need to solve it my self. But, if at home, I just ask to my parents. In Malaysia, want or not want, I need to learn how to cook because outside foods are not suitable for me. I also need to learn how to take care my self, how to together live with strangers.

For me, after come to Malaysia, I have increased my general knowledge. I know what Indians, Westerns and many others kinds of people are. I also know a little bit of Indian culture, Chinese culture, and Malaysian culture in here. It is totally different with what I know before. It helped me learn so much more about everything in their country better than when I was studying from a book. From this journey, my knowledge about this world increase a lot. Travel also is the best way to learn and know many things such as new or different culture, meet new people, going places that I have never been, etc.

For who want to increase knowledge, I suggest that we need to leave our home, our parents, or our family and independent our self. If we just at home, we will never learn how to grown up, take care yourself, and we also will never know about outside world. This is a great experience for me. I will still continued to finished my abroad journey..
Good luck for me.. Hope I can learn more things, and I can be thinking more mature..

Traditional and Modern

Nowadays Most of things such as fashion of clothes, structure of building are changed that is more modern but I think that traditional things are not disappear at all because some of the people still keep follow traditional. In addition, even spirit of people also change to become modern but still have traditional thinking like between my generation and my father of mother’s generation.

I don't think that parents should choose for their children who they are to wed because sometimes the parents themselves could not make those choices and therefore would be making the wrong choice for the child. Actually parents want their children marry with person who has the good background. Sometimes it can make their children become unhappy. I also feel that forcing a child to go to church is also something that needs to be modernized. Sure, you can baptize your child and teach them your religion, but if they grow up and realize they don't want to be a part of the religion, then adapt to it and change; don't alienate simply because you want them to share your beliefs. What people need to understand that tradition will not always be tradition because one major force exists; change? Change will make things modern, and as change keeps rolling through, some of those modern things will become traditional, like carrying a cell phone would be considered traditional in some cultures. Some traditions last, but other succumb to change, and change really doesn't care what traditional is and what modern is.The same can be said about segregation or even slavery; that was a tradition back in the day, and now generation is different, for example: in USA, they have a President who is partially African-American and they live in the country where everyone and anyone is free. I don't mind harmless traditions, but everything changes eventually, where traditions becomes extinct, moderns become traditions, and change becomes moderns.

Starbucks Experience

Starbucks is a famous coffee house in the world. It gives the good situation for people to enjoy coffee and feel relax. On 21st February 2009 (Saturday), the teacher brought my classmates and I go to Starbucks. When I came to Malaysia, this isn’t my first time go to there, but it’s the first time I tasted coffee. Before day, I ever visited twice with my friend but I never ordered coffee. I always ordered Mango Juice, is it funny? Usually people go to Starbucks to drink coffee, but I’m not. I don’t like coffee, so I don’t know what coffee taste is. After this experience, I know it. Even though I don’t like coffee but it is good opportunity to learn about coffee.

When we arrived at Starbucks, the teacher called all of us enter and take a sit, that time inside the cafe sit not only our class, but also other customers. A worker that will explain about Starbucks, he introduced himself first. After that, other worker gave a cappuccino with ice to all of customers. Then I tasted it, when it enter on my mouth, I feel like ice-cream but after on my tongue the sweet of cappuccino less. The lecture explained the coffee species, one is Arabica and other is Robusta. For Starbucks, they use Arabica one. It is the best bean and has high quality. They seek only the finest, richest and most interesting beans. That’s way Starbucks coffee is considering for the customers as the best coffee.

He introduced region which is growing coffee from Latin America, Africa/Arabia and Asia/Pacific. Then we taste the original Espresso, Sumatra, Robusta and Latin America coffee without put sugar. Before I drunk, he teach the four steps of coffee tasting: the first smell, slurp, locate the experience on your tongue and then create a coffee description. After I tasted I find that the four kind of coffees that I drunk have different flavors, but I think same aroma.

The Starbucks also provide the cake, biscuit and foods. Starbucks suggest that some of the foods pair with coffee which is more delicious if you eat together the food. Starbucks not only sell coffee but also have juice. After finish presentation, they give each person one door gift. I was so happy when accept this. The gift is a cup Starbucks and Espresso coffee. But I’m not drink the coffee. I gave to my friend because my friend loves it.

I think that going to Starbucks it’s a good experience, although I don’t like coffee. But I have learned history of Starbuck, how to taste coffee and also that I didn’t know before, whenever just go and try it.
